Norwegian ripper and current TTR World Champ Ståle Sandbech recently added his own entry into the ever-expanding lexicon of triples with his Underflip version, and here is the video.
OMG! WTF?! Or is all this triple hopping just getting a bit ZZZ now? Ståle calls his version a triple underflip 1260, and it’s certainly pretty impressive, but from where we’re sitting it looks more like triple backflip 180. What the hell, maybe we’re just anal.
Pulled out at the same Vierli session that Jørn Simen Aabøe came up trumps with his toeside triple 1440, it’s safe to say that shaper Odd Roar Solerød did a pretty darn good job on the kicker up there as the crew up there full-on sent it. “The jump is super good,” says Ståle, “with a lot of airtime and I figured I could try a triple.” And so he did - apparently stomping the first attempt. Ståle’s also got some common-or-garden doubles (including a lazy double Crippler off a sideswipe quarterpipe) and even a regular poked out back 9 and a steezy slow backside 540. In this day and age surely that’s almost the real OMGWTF?!
Regardless, the fact that this edit is set to Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart means this is without doubt the best triple edit to date. Fact.
Right then. We’re over triples now. They’re so last season. Someone bring us the quintuple!
